midnight ride:
since east side scooters will be closed at this time, we will meet directly across the street in the krogers parking lot. we will leave by midnight thirty at the latest, so try to be there as close to midnight as possible. we will tool around the east side for a minute, cross the shelby street bridge, then ride broadway through downtown. from there we will hit charlotte ave. and take that until we reach old hickory blvd. that will lead us to franklin road which will then lead us back into downtown.
as well, if everyone or anyone is so inclined, we can make a waffle house stop at harding and i-65. i am always down for some waffle house.
my notes: when i rode this route tonight, it took roughly 45 minutes. i didn't ride the complete route so we are probably looking at closer to an hour riding. i think it should work out to about 40-45 miles. the speed limits range from 30mph to 55mph. i'm not saying 50cc scooters shouldn't come, but just keep that in mind. as well, if you are scared of the dark, you may get freaked out at some points. i am looking forward to there being more than just my one headlight the next time i go through some of these areas. nonetheless, i think it is going to be a very fun ride and just looking forward to riding in a group at night.
percy warner park ride - 2pm
we will meet at east side scooters at 2pm and leave by 2:30pm. our route will basically be into downtown, west end ave. to highway 100 then into the park. we rode this route on our very first ride and it was a blast. there is a really cool lookout point midway through the park as well. we will end up at bongo java off belmont to just hang out and then go from there.
i am looking forward to seeing a good sized group there this sunday. it will be a lot of fun for sure.

rides.Rides.RIDES.
so we probably need to apologize for not being as consistent as we really should have been with this, but we will use the excuse that it was cold out, cool? anyways, no more excuses. its warm out. its perfect scooter weather, so that means it's time to ride.
we have two rides planned right now.
may 25th @ 2pm...meet at east side scooters (we know its memorial day weekend and a lot of you might be out of town, but we really just wanted to get a ride together. so as many that can make it out, the best, but we understand if you already have amazing plans to celebrate memorials.)
june 22...we'll meet at east side scooters as usual, but we'll be back with you about the time. we would love for this ride to be a really big one since it will sort of be the first real ride of the summer...not just one thrown together two weeks before the date. yeah, we're really good at putting things off. sorry.
nonetheless, thank you so much for being a part of scoot nashville. we look forward to seeing some of you soon and others even sooner. if you haven't been by east side lately, stop in and say hello. they've got some new scooters in too. there was an amazing new baby blue stella that was there, but it was sold...we both cried a little bit, but we are glad someone has a magnificent scooter now. we'll see you soon.

the year of the scoot
Let me first start this blog of by apologizing. Adam and I have been ubber busy this past month and have really been MIA. We apologize if we have appeared to drop the ball on Scoot Nashville, but we do want you to know that we have been discussing this upcoming year quite a bit and are really excited about what this year is going to bring for the scooter community in Nashville. I was at a Chinese restaurant the other night and looking over those goofy placemats they put under the glass that tell you what animal each year is represented by and if I am not mistaken, for the year 2008, there was no animal, but a scooter. 2008 is going to be the year of the scooter and that makes me really excited. (Okay, that is a total lie, but nonetheless, we are really excited about what is going to be happening this year.)
I promised myself that I wouldn’t let this blog get to lengthy since I am really excited about all that is going to be going on and could probably just keep writing and writing for days, but here is what we are seeing for Scoot Nashville in 2008.
Scoot Night at FooBar:
Chris, the mechanic at East Side Scooters, told me about this a while back, but nothing has been done about it so far. Basically what the owners of FooBar want to do is have a night that dedicated entirely to the scooter community of Nashville. We pick the night of the week and the DJ. Drink specials will be going on for sure too. I personally work five nights out of the week so I don’t know if I should really be the one to head this up, but I really like the idea. I think this would be a great way to really build the community and give us a very informal way to see each other on a regular basis. If anyone is interested in heading this up, please email Adam or I so we can get this baby cookin’.
More Rides:
Our desire is, especially once the weather is nice, to have two rides a month. Once again, we want to bring this community this together as much as possible. This way too, with more rides, if you can’t make it to one, there will be one coming up very soon. As well, mark your calendars, FEBUARY 10TH AT 6PM…POLAR BEAR RIDE. Flyers will be at East Side Scooters and if you would personally like some to hand out, contact Adam or I and we will put some in your hand.
Weekend Trip:
Not only do we want to incorporate more rides in general, but we thought doing a weekend trip would be fun too. We just started talking about this a week or so ago, so we don’t have any set details, but would like to see it happen one weekend this summer.
New Merch:
We should finally have the first pressing of our shirts in our hands by the end of next week. We saw a couple promos and are really excited how they turned out. You can access our merch page through the website. As well, we hope to have shop shirts, work jackets, windbreakers, messenger bags, and more t-shirts soon too. If you have any ideas for designs, feel free to send them our way.
Forum:
We really want to get our forum up and running soon. Stupid computer glitches keep getting in our way, but hopefully we will have this up by spring at the latest.
East Side Scooter Grand Opening:
East Side Scooters in planning a grand opening party this spring sometime. To my knowledge, a date has not been set, but once we hear something, we will post it. I know that most of you are already loyal East Side Scooter folks, but for those of you that haven’t made it there yet, please stop by and see them. James, Josephine, and Chris have put a lot of work into the shop this winter and it is starting to look even more amazing. We the have their grand opening party, lets all make a point to be there and support these three.
It has been great getting to see some of you on the road or at the scooter shop this past month too. It is always encouraging to pass a fellow scooterist on a cold, rainy day, so thanks to those of you that have been riding through the winter with me. As for the rest of you…MAN UP, IT’S NOT THAT COLD!! I’m just messing with you, but nonetheless it is always great to pass you on the road and know whom I am waving to. Well I better sign off because as I mentioned, I could just keep writing and writing and writing and writing…well you get the point. Hope everyone is staying warm and dry and I look forward to seeing you on the road soon.
